Hi, I'm Ying. When I was five or six, I had my first instincts on who I wanted to be: first a botanist, and second an artist.

Eventually when I wandered, from the Amazon to the Sahara, I saw how people were born of their landscape, and joined with the land in their spirituality and agency in everyday life. The significance and insignificance of individuals in their environment have always drawn me, and my visual art seeks to express this integration: of human and nature, of modern and timeless, of order and paradox, of ordinary and extraordinary.

In person: I'm having a solo show, with the title "The Spirit of Place," during Georgetown Art Attack on May 9th and June 13, 5-8pm (and generally continuing into the night). You can find me in the Coral space that's part of this address: 6520 5th Ave S, 98108. Would love to see you there! To view it on other days in that duration, please contact me.
